Updates Eternal Networks DarkRP v2.2

Hello everyone!

It’s with a heavy heart that I have to announce the official shutdown of the server.

Following the major update I pushed in October, we did see a short boost in player activity, but it unfortunately only lasted about a week. That update took several months to complete and introduced a significant amount of new content and unique cosmetics to work toward. Despite that effort, overall player activity remained extremely low, even while many members continued to stay active on other servers.

In December, we also experienced a server hosting outage that lasted about a week. At that point, it became clear to me that continuing the project without meaningful community support was no longer viable.

I then posted this announcment on the discord.

"As some of you may already be aware, our server host Atomic Networks has shut down indefinitely for unknown reasons. This situation was sudden and completely unexpected. At the moment, I have very limited access to the server panel. Most administrator functions are disabled, including the ability to download server files. The only backup I currently have is a local copy from over a month ago. To properly resolve this, I would need to migrate to a new Garry’s Mod hosting provider and rebuild the server from the ground up. This would also result in higher monthly hosting costs. Given the current level of player activity, involvement, and long-term commitment, it is unfortunately not viable for me to continue investing additional time and resources into reviving the server. The current plan is to wait and see if Atomic Networks comes back online. If they do not, this will mark the shutdown of the Eternal Networks servers. Even if the host does return, I still plan to permanently shut down the Eternal servers in March 2026, as this coincides with the renewal of the website domain and the server is no longer generating enough funds to sustainably cover the .gg domain, hosting, and other ongoing expenses. The Discord will remain available, but I think it’s best to restrict channels to members who contributed to the server or had ranks at that time. Thank you to everyone who played, supported the server, and was part of the community. I truly appreciate the memories we made together.

"

Officially announcing that I would no longer be renewing the servers service when the websites domain coincided renewals.
While that announcement did reach some members, many of whom expressed that they cared about the server, since the hosting came back online, there has been no return of player activity. No one has joined the server or checked out the new updates.

Because of this, I don’t see a reason to continue hosting the server even until March. We’ve had a full month of hosting since the shutdown announcement, and there has still been no player activity. As a result, the final shutdown date for Eternal Networks will be at the end of the current hosting cycle, which is January 27th at around12 PM (noon) Central Standard Time (CST).
